Fresh bread

A frequent question I’m asked is about bread, “How do I make it?”

I stopped buying shop bought bread as it’s regularly full of colourings and preservatives, so I bought a bread machine. I know it’s a bit of a cheat, but it’s brilliant! I wake up each morning to the smell of fresh bread, and when I get up, I cut a slice and it’s still warm! Delicious.

So here’s my really simple recipe for Fresh Plant-Based Wholemeal Bread…

1 tsp yeast

400g organic wholemeal bread

a pinch of Maldon sea salt

300ml cold water

I add the yeast first to the bread tin, then the flour, then the salt and lastly the water. I don’t do anything else except for adding the tin to the bread machine and setting the program and timer. That’s it. Super simple!
