Here are 15 Common Foods And Juices To Avoid If You Suffer From Indigestion And Heartburn
For a lot of people acid indigestion and heartburn are ongoing problems that cause no end of discomfort and pain. Over the counter medicine and prescribed medicine seem to work for short periods of time before the problem comes back with a vengeance. So what is causing you to have indigestion and heartburn and what can you do to relieve the extreme discomfort?
Well, if you eat the right foods and avoid the not so right foods you should see a huge improvement in your indigestion and heartburn. Here are 15 common foods and juices to avoid if you suffer from indigestion and heartburn:
1. Alcohol
2. Tobacco
3. Any kind of caffeinated drinks including cola, fizzy drinks and coffee
4. Any type of spicy foods
5. Milk! This surprises a lot of people as they had been told that it would help to ease the burning and pain, but it has been shown to actually increase the production of stomach acid.
Also consider reducing or stop eating completely the following raw foods:
1. Raw onions
2. Cucumbers
3. Radishes
4. Green and red peppers
And the following fruit juices:
1. Orange
2. Lemon
3. Tomato
4. Passion fruit
5. Pineapple
6. Apple
Remember it’s often not the raw whole foods that are causing the problem but the commercial juices. Try reducing or cutting out these foods and drinks for 10 days and see what difference you feel. Remember to keep a diary or a log before you start reducing or cutting out the food and drinks above and then during the 10 days to ensure that you’re not just relying on your memory to determine how many times you had heartburn and indigestion before you stopped and after.
